All football teams have good and bad games as do players and very seldom is it because they are not putting in 100%. Eastleigh lost 3-1 and are getting slagged off by their fans. I would not say their loss was down to lack of effort, they gave their all to get back into the game, specially in the second half. when they hit the bar twice and if those Dover Fans that were there were honest, when our third goal went in, it was a relief.
So I do not get this "We did not win so we did not give 100%"
As to the cost, yes £!3 is a lot for people in this economical climate, but the overheads the club has are probably well in excess of what they get in finance through the turn style. We all want the best players, the best pitch, the best club but it comes at a price and you can not expect at non league level for the chairman and directors to keep putting thousands of pounds in. Just look ay Truro, that is what happens when support goes down and Chairman say enough is enough.
Dover has a good Board of Directors, a good ground which is far better than most in non league football. It has an "A" grading which makes it fit for league football and it has now got what looks to be a good team which need time to gel. All it needs is true loyal support through thick and thin.
