for clubs like Dover, this cup helps out the finances for the club if they get a run in the cup.
Dover won 3-1 against FC Rushden and diamonds,

Rushden & Diamonds brought a good number of supporters with them who were very vocal. It was overall a good game with both sides playing well and the ref doing well letting the game flow. The first half was very even and one all at half time was about right. Then at the start of the second half their keeper had a howler dropping the ball which hit one of their players and went into the goal to make it 2 -1 to Dover from then on Dover had the upper hand and Rushden started to tire. Dover then got the killer goal making it 3-1.
As I said an all round good game, you never know a certain person may start thinking about returning for his Bovril and Mars bar.

It will not be easy they have already taken two teams from out of our league with Eastleigh and Maidenhead Utd, but they are not doing very well in their own league the Conference North and do not travel well so we are certainly in with a shout.

14 October 2013 17:34248253A shame the game isn't next Saturday as my son will be visiting from near Oxford but does not watch them, he still keeps an eye on Dover's progress each week so I suspect he would still shout for them.
