  Whenever I despair of DDC I only have to read of the latest shenanigans in Thanet to cheer me up!

  BASIC Allowance
  £4,570 each Member x 56 = £255,920
  i.e. Over a quarter of a million pounds!
  
  Special Responsibility Allowances make up an extra £107,633
  
  (Though apparently they need such a large number to ensure meetings remain quorate as half of them are usually helping the local police with their inquiries!)

  I could not care less what Thanet Council does with their money it is nothing to do with me only those that live in that area.
  
  I do care about how DDC, DTC and KCC spend and also waste the hard earned money that we have to give them so maybe we should concentrate on our local councils.

  I think the point Bob Made shares your view Jan , he was saying it's not just Dover that wastes money .

  Having moved out of the area on 15 September, DDC owe me a council tax refund of over £270 which they have neglected to repay to my bank account. Does it really take over six weeks to process a simple payment? I bet if I were six weeks behind with my payments they would be on my back in a flash.

  At least DDC managed to sell a shopping center TO a pension fund rather than buying one FROM a pension fund!
