Dover council Energy switch
I see the council are organising a big energy switch thing for residence
http://www.energydealswitch.com/
Maybe they can do something for the very poor ,that ar on budget key meters?
I think energy suppliers rip the poorest in society off the most.
You have a key meter customer that is basically paying up front for there emerge ,,but they pay the most for there supply ,,why?

the worst off in our society don't have anyone to speak for them, not enough votes in it.
i keep meaning to sign up with that council thing, thanks for the reminder.

Maybe all the politicians can stand up for the key meter poor ,to get a better deal.
On a pay up front key, they pay around 22p KWH , on direct debit its around 14p KWH .
f.....scandal .

why would they keith?
the three main parties are only interested in the "squeezed middle" if you pay heed to their utterances.
they cast a vote unlike the vast majority of those who use key meters.

I have no dog in the race. I switched to OVO a few years ago. The bill came down and the service is superb. The SmartMeter works and my webpage when logged in shows the minutiae of both my electricity and gas usage. Plus stay in credit and they pay you 3% Interest on the balance.

Maybe. But others with their tails up might like a scratch and a sniff, and they could find it's the b******s after all.

Just curious has anyone joined this scheme and saved money on their energy bills.

Yes, JH. Twice. But not for a while as the deal offered either didn't better my current one or the saving was too negligible to make it worthwhile. They are generally one-year contracts and change to a standard variable tariff after that. But by that time the next auction will have come around and you can start all over again!

Yes I have done it for the last 4 years. Twice I have switched, twice I didn’t.

Another 'big energy switch thing' auction takes place on 12 October. Register here if interested:

Though I'd guess that with some companies now gone west and others refusing new customers it'll be only the big 5 bidding.
