Sadly it closes again for the winter (week-days), end of October.
The old 2-4-1 voucher system for guests of local hotels and guest houses worked very well until they decided that too many people were using it. More people visited the Castle and used the guest houses etc. so it was a good thing for Dover.
Even though I saw it first time around I made a point of watching it, a very interesting programme, great to see that there are artisans and experts who have the skill to make these wonderful artifacts from medieval times
Dover Castle was on Most Haunted several years back.
According to informed staff, a pair of trousers carried by shoes haunts a chamber, and a torso has been seen hanging from a ceiling.
The trouble is, the lower half walks around looking for the upper part, but can't find it as it's hanging up to dry from the ceiling, and this unfortunate torso is missing a head to be able to see the lost legs.
The head has no legs to walk on, and so the whole ensemble is awaiting clarification.
Unless they rejoin, sadly, the forlorn trousers will be seen roaming around.
