The post you are reporting:
I am only going to comment on this once as I have no intention of letting this thread turn into a "them and us" situation, we have been there before and as a result both Associations lose their integrity and dignity.
I chose my words carefully in my statement and ensured that I was only complimentary about DCA and their girls, I would ask that they respond likewise.
The statement we have issued is purely and simply a way of protecting our reputation with regard to Carnival as alot of time and effort went into persuading the people of Dover to believe in Carnival again and we would like to ensure that this perception is carried through to July 2012.
Reference to our sponsors was purely so that they know we have not kept anything back from them and that we havent advertised this Event and their sponsorship because it is not ours!
With regard to sponsorship approaches, there are many organisations throughout Dover that do what they do to ensure that Dover Events continue and all of these groups approach the same people for sponsorship, it is a limited pool but so far and by working together we have managed to ensure there is enough to go around.
As I previously said we hope that the illuminated parade on 2nd October is a success for DCA.
Thanks
Sheli x
p.s. there is another thread entitled "It's not us" already open where I posted my original statement.
