  "Dover Town Carnival Ltd were invited to a Dover Carnival Parade on October 2nd 2011 today.
  
  Whilst we wish Dover Carnival Association every success with their Carnival we would like the people of Dover and most especially our sponsors for our Carnival in July to be aware that the October Carnival is not being run by our Association nor is it in any way connected to Dover Town Carnival Ltd."
  
  Could Michelle please explain why she felt it was necessary to post this all over Facebook today. Whilst a lot of people in Dover are aware that there are two Carnival courts for this town I suspect that 99% of them care not a jot and are just grateful that people in the town put on any interesting event.
  
  As far as I can see the only reason for this post to be plastered all over facebook is to put their sponsors on notice just in case Dover Carnival Association approach them for sponsorship too, should this occur she can be assured that DCA will in no way attempt to claim kinship to Dover Town Carnival Ltd.
  
  The Torchlight Parade that hopefully will be held on the 2nd of October is to celebrate the 130th Anniversary of Dover Carnival Association and many invitations have gone out in the hopes that DDC give permission for the parade to go ahead. This parade, as well as celebrating the history of the DCA is a excellent chance for the people of Dover to see that not all town events are limited to the Summer and that there are many different peoples and organisations who want to celebrate what a wonderful town we live in.
  
  If Dover Town Carnival Ltd did not wish to attend this parade DCA would have accepted, regretfully, that decision but possibly understood it. I, however, do not understand the reason behind the posting on facebook and wish it could be explained to me.
