I hope you will add to my unbiased (hopefully view on the meeting.
and of course hopefully you will add/correct.

I arrived a few minutes late due to work, but once there got to hear a number of projects that are taking place to brighten up Dover, or in the process.

I have to say the first 20 minutes or so it was difficult to hear because the door to the bar next door was open, it was closed which made hearing a little easier, also the set up it was difficult to see who was speaking, or someting even about what.

There was quite a lively debate about putting banners down the market square, in the hope of promoting the newly formed group, but when the first 5 groups (who were to go on the banner)was mentioned, quite a debate bagan, (including officers on the top table not being able to agree with each other) one group being Dover Castle, there was two trains of thought,

1; one that English heritage should foot much, or even a large amount of the costs of the banner, as they are (or will be)
    getting a free advert
2; The castle is one of the five sites everyone knows and would be a good starter, and phase two(whaever that was) could
    have a different five?

In the end it was voted through to pay for the banners as it was felt in the best interest of the town(although if im honest
the comment from the founder of the banners, that its a take it or leave proposal, didnt realy help debate.

Another proposal followed by another very energetic lady whos getting flowers in the market square and brightening the area, the lady was brimming with enthusiasm, and had other plans as well.

There still was single issue/groups but most if not all were pushing for a better Dover

I will Ross be putting the leaflets out next week Ross
and maybe the following week pick up some more from you?
