On this thread, at local level, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. There are many people, councillors and politicians from all parties that are able to put aside politics and are concerned with helping community groups.
Yes people will say that they are just passing the buck onto these groups but the truth is that these groups can do a far better job of helping our communities than local authorities have done over previous years.
Of course this cannot happen without leaders, funding and a bit of faith from the communities themselves.
Dover has just been given a million quid, that's solid money in the bank and its up to the people of Dover to grasp the nettle and show the authorities what can be achieved by working together.
Time to stop talking and start doing, don't waste this opportunity to make a difference.
