  Keith, I am surprised to hear he knew as he only attended one of those (and it was not the Dover Alliance at the time). The Alliance is just that, an alliance, and one man does not an alliance make. Should David decide to step down, and the decision is entirely up to him, the Alliance will go on and we will wish him well in all his future endeavours. You would be surprised how many think national party politics have no place in local government. It is all very well saying what national policies you will support and which you will object to during party meetings but the electorate want to know what you will do for Dover within the remit of the council you are standing for.
