I posted the following in answer to Bobs question on another thread then noticed that it was under the subject of DDC. I wish to make it clear that the Alliance is only interested in DTC - so if anyone wants to stand for any other council they will have to find other help.

You can see all about the Alliance from our web site "www.doveralliance.org.uk"

Basically we are a Dover group that believe that Town councillors should vote for themselves not under a Party whip. We also believe that National politics has no place in the Town Council but recognise that unless there is group support it is difficult for any individual to stand thus would happily invite anyone to join us for the next election in May who cares about Dover first.

I would be pleased to discuss it with you at any time. Our candidate Georgette also lives in the ward that she is standing for and has been heavily involved in Dover about which she is devoted.

" I will not get involved in party banter here, as before, others put their own interpretation on comments and then claim that they do not understand our very simple philosophy. Politics has done more damage to Dover than anything else. It can also be said that all the current Alliance councillors live or work in the areas they represent.

I am a Dovorian who has dedicated himself to acting rather than whingeing - may not always right but try to do my best - I am an Alliance member and am always available.. The website says it all. We have stood in all Town elections since 2003 at which time we had 49% of the cast votes gaining only 6 seats but have had a significant effect on the DTC. The castle Ward in which we are standing now was Alliance in 2003 until we let the Conservatives in unopposed in the subsequent election.
