I don't usually name DDC Officers but on this occasion a tribute needs to be paid to the Senior Horticulatural Officer, Darran Solly, who has dealt with the improvements to the Bleriot site in Northfall Meadow by DDC's contractors English Landscapes.
Although Darran's Head of Section and I have been discussing this for some time and dealing with the paperwork, it is Darran, who with other colleagues has programmed the works taking into consideration the widelife habitats and growth times of vegatation and the other natural issues that need to be looked at.
The work is ongoing but I am aussured it will be finished well in time for the celebrations.
Work is also underway for Olympic events too so keep an eye out in the usual place
