Yes a very good event. I got a few pictures too and will get them on the frontpage on monday...notably the Mayor with her dog Remy who won a 4th place rosette.

Along with JanT we entered the boat race, and my boat almost pipped the winner.

Jeanette Harper was as charming as ever as she coerced me into it. Oooh she's such a bully! lol! But I was within a whisker of winning and scooping the prize in the end. Just needed an extra gust of wind at the rght time, but it wasnt to be. But well done the winner who beat me by a short head.

Phil Eyden was the man in the waders this year and very fetching he was too...Ian has done it for donkeys years. Terry Nunn as ever was the 'man on de mike'. Many of the boats ran aground on the weeds..not mine though, I sailed through smelling of nautical roses.

While I was there I took the opportunity of looking for the Doverweb sponsored concrete slab. You know all those events noted by the paving slabs around the bandstand, well in the old days when all this was partly Doverweb, Rick (Jones) sponsored the slab and its still there today. Have you seen it, can you spot it..bet you didnt know it was there...

EXTRA: just come back to add this pic..twas taken by Jeanette Harper of White Horse and LRCF fame and it shows me with my sleek hulled nautical viper.

Jan's boat is still out there trying to negotiate the course...
