despite all the signs and notices around town urging people to have some respect for their environment a few make a point of doing the exact opposite, i have no idea why.

These people do it because there is nobody there to stop them.

They might just be very lonely people.A shame but sometimes they feel that birds and animals are the only friends they have.I still dont like all the mess the birds leave but theres far worse things that happen around town than this.

i don't doubt those sentiments but people were having to take a long walk round today to avoid the "alfred hitchcock" bit and the path from the former nick past the riverside centre is sometimes impassable unless you wish to tread on a pigeon on a feeding frenzy.

I once sat round the side of the Town hall with a bag of baked goodies from Rooks the butchers. What a mistake that was.I know what you mean Howard.

I'm going to a meeting at DDC tonight where one of the topics is Envirocrime, I think this might qualify to be mentioned.

all needed to do is a polite conversation with the lady and done and dusted xxx some people just need reminders. not worth bringing this up in a meeting. There are far worse problems exist than above .... If i would of been there I would of said something in a nice diplomatic way ;) it may work or it may not. But always worth a Try :D

not true heike i have tried in the past to explain nicely the folly of this sort of behaviour, not just in dover too.
quite extraordinary to hear "sweet old ladies" use such profanities.

Yes, I have also tried to explain (politely) their folly, but have been told to go forth and multiply.
