just remembered an incident earlier and thought i would post it before going to bed and forgetting all about it.
we all know about what happens to dogs left in cars during hot weather, a new slant today.
i went past the gateway centre about 2 p.m. there was a dog tethered to a bollard outside, when i returned 30 minutes later the dog was still there in the blazing sun. i knew that the owner was in there because the tail wagged a bit when the door opened.
i then went into the centre and asked the receptionist to put out a call to the owner.
many thanks to steve of regent coaches that held the bus back until i got back.

Well done Howard - also for highlighting this particular problem. It must have been either a difficult question for someone to answer that kept the dog-owner in there that long, or a long queue.
Reminds of the joke about who really is a man's best friend ? Lock your dog and your wife in the boot of your car, leave them for an hour and see which one is happy to see you !!

Well done Howard and Regent.
I can never understand why people take their dogs shopping. The poor dogs get trampled on if they are small, leads get tangled with items and or legs, while some dogs are snappy with other people.
Complete madness, selfishness or is it just thoughtlessness.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

funnily enough there was hardly anyone in there, the owner must have been taking advantage of the free use of computers.
there is a saying that some people keep pets as they are not allowed to look after children.
Nice one Howard, and well done Regent. Most would have done nothing.

if i can digress here regent buses try to do their best around here despite getting no help from the police or d.d.c parking services.
our regular drivers steve and phil go well beyond their remit in making sure that the people that cannot climb hills get home.
Nice to hear of people going the extra mile. It makes the world go round. Well done to Regent.
