about half an hour ago i was on a bus that went past some flats that used to be the "westbury" pub. a dog was sitting in a parked car with no windows open.
i went straight back with a camera to take a picture showing the number plate and the dog but thankfully the car had gone.
we all know that dogs do not survive long on a hot day but who would have i needed to ring to get the dog out?

If a real concern then ring the Police, they will take the necessary action to resolve the matter.

999 Howard and ask for the police. The new 101 is not an emergency number, but a dog shut in a car on a hot day warrants a rapid response, they can die in minutes. There is also the RSPCA emergency number 0300 123 4999

I believe you can ring 999 and if you have a belief that the dog is in distress you can advise the operators you are concerned and smash the window...
