Yet another child mauled by a dog. I've said it before and I'll say it again, dogs are what their owners make them.
Have a look on Tuesday, 10.35 BBC1.

it's fair to say, the majority of dogs (even nice cute ones) may well bite given the opportunity.
the owners need to act responsibly if they are to have any kind of dog, and if they cant then they sholdn't have a dog

anyone found not responsible (like terry's case)through the courts shoiuld stop from owning a dog in the future any such guilty people
sadly at present that doesnt happen, and they often re offend
or more and more children are hurt.
vince, now that i know who you are lol)
i was on the line at river rec once and bernard ashby(remember him?) was on the other line, i saw he jump and swear
when game stopped a dog owner and dog walked past and the dog bit bernard as he passed.
thats irresponsible

The only time I have ever been bitten was by a cute very friendly dog that in a split second decided it would bite me.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

Dare I mention a dog licence? Although I suspect that an immediate effect would be a huge number of strays.
Shami Chakrabarti would probably have something to say about it as well.

If only this sort of behaviour could be associated with that common failing in the young, the thinking that things will be all right, nothing can go wrong. Part of which leads to bungee-jumping and other dangerous sports/activities.
Then dog-ownership could be restricted to those over 24 or so.
Alas this may not be so.
Another sure-fire solution might be to 'encourage' young people to take-up dangerous adventuring, but we would run up against the usual problem...only those who would not be such a problem in the first place would take part.
The legalisation, registration and control of drugs and the hefty punishment of contraband suppliers would go a long way to dealing with the recalcitrant few.
We of the old-fogey variety must embrace the young, in a manner of speaking. Facilitation rather than blanket condemnation.

Terry, is that the bringing of joints to where they be skeletons?
If this is Dover's favourite pass-time of jumping off the sea wall, good for them. With all the work being done around the docks just now half a day spent clearing the dangers from the jumping places would be time well spent.
I was taught be a Pole who never saw the sea until in his twenties and off to fight for his homeland from here.
There is surely more to living by the sea than accepting the gift of free gravel after stormy weather?
