Keith I am surprised, you have said something worthwhile discussing..
Points 1, 2, 4, are all a legacy that is inherited, it takes more than a year to change that lot around particularly when faced with the other challenges faced. I have written about the joke that is our criminal justice system.
Point 3 - Not necessarily right. Yes the police must take their share of the cuts that are only necessary because of Labour's legacy but another part of that legacy is the huge beaurocracy and form filling that keeps them off the streets. Get rid of the form filling and fewer police and reduced police budgets could still see more police actually on the streets where it counts. Don't forget the police chiefs are acting as a vested interest in resisting necessary reform in this, so their claims need to be taken with a huge pinch of salt.
Point 5 - you exaggerate clearly and, of course, we have to remember we do not have a Tory government and the complexities of coalition have to be wrestled with sometimes it works out and other times changes have to be made. Such is life.
Point 6 is complete nonsense.
Point 7 is another exaggeration. There is no actual internal threat to DC though you wish there was.
Point 8 - should I care! Clegg has to see things through to the election in 3/4 years time and get through mid-term blues. Not unusual for any governing party even for the LibDems who are unused to this.
Point 9 - I hope that you are right but I suspect you may be wrong.
