I thought it was predictable.
1) These riots were not about government cuts: they were directed at high street stores, not Parliament.
Parliament sits behind a ring of defences that make it impossible to protest there. The High Street stores are the next best thing since crime against property and possession is guaranteed a reaction whereas peaceful protest is ignored.
2) No, this was about behaviour...
...people showing indifference to right and wrong...
...people with a twisted moral code...
...people with a complete absence of self-restraint.
Hmmm, sounds familiar.
3) Now I know as soon as I use words like 'behaviour' and 'moral' people will say -
what gives politicians the right to lecture us? Of course we're not perfect.
I'll refer to our little difficulties but that will be enough to let me continue venting my spleen to the satisfaction of the Daily Mail readership
4) In my very first act as leader of this party I signalled my personal priority: to
mend our broken society.
End of year report: Must try harder!
5) Work is at the heart of a responsible society.
What about tolerance, compassion, caring ......?
6) So even before the riots happened, I asked for an explanation.
Then promptly went on holiday!
Lots of macho, testosterone fuelled language to show how 'potent' he is and how in
charge he is:
Fight back; robust; beefing up; tough; put rocket booster under; push further;
faster; no holds barred etc etc
Still, while he's in the mood for dealing with thuggish, anti-social behaviours perhaps he could look into this too:
