This is one of the pieces of graffiti up at the Redoubt that I've drawn a blank on. Does anyone recognise it? It may, or may not, be military. If so, it is probably wartime or immediate post war. Thanks.

It's a bit precise Phil as though someone has drawn or scratched around something.

Without being able to read what has been written around it. It looks to me as if the closing-off lines to the ends of the 'V' shape are later and more crude than the rest although more effort has gone into arching the one on the left. It looks to be an illustration of what was discussed, tunnelling from R&L into a (gun emplacement promontory?)

Ignorance is bliss, bliss is happiness, I am happy...to draw your attention to the possible connectivity in the foregoing.

Good point Terry. There is a possible date below that may read August 1946 but I can't be certain. Perhaps someone drew around a 'V for Victory' badge?

Wild guess I'd say V for Victory and a cigar through it.
There is a very similarilary shaped badge for sale on ebay , it is described as a V for victory badge , what size is the one you are asking for info on ?

Thanks Sarah. I guess it's about an inch and a half across, from memory that is!
Might be about the same size as the badge Phil , It certainly looks very similar

The Victory 'V' reminds me of a logo on a tin in a Grocery shop my Mum used to work in the distant past, I'm sure they were for lozenges of the same name.
