Perhaps we would each expect rather more of life if we accepted that the end is indeed the end?
How much more we can accept in the way of hardship and disappointment 'knowing' that we are/maybe destined to live forever in a land of milk and honey and that what we do in our last few years on this Earth or in our final moments could be enough to wipe away a life-times' wrongs.
The spectre of peace on Earth may remain just that while a spectre-ship is the best we can hope for in the eternal hereafter.
By way of conjoining two topics...
