Although if i'm honest i'm a total non believer in these things, i'v watched the programme the 6th sense and i have to say that geezer is very good and i'm sure he's more in line if you were to become a believer
he appears to get it right, looks like it's sincere and those contacted in the audience surprized and comment how good he is.
now go to the programme most haunted, what a load of old trollop
very unconvincing, poor
i'm sure jeane will comment further as i have in the past shared sightings i have had and jeane has given a reasonable explanation.

I've been on both Sixth Sense with Colin Fry and Most Haunted. What can I say, both were OK but I found Colin Fry far more believable. I thought MH was staged to a certain extent and that some psychics had information before they got to the location / person. There are some very good psychics and I don't mean the ones that can do cold reading which is clever but it's a trick rather like magic. Equally there are a lot of bad ones and what I cannot tolerate is the ones that rip people off or frighten them. I wish there was more regulation in the industry. I do a lot less readings and investigations now as my other work (photography, writing, bit of acting) has taken over.
I always look for a rational explanation for things first and if there isn't, then we might have something.
Jeane has helped mel a lot with things like goings on in our house and also gave mel a lovely reading too, which i know she holds very dear to her still to this day . Must be more to this one life

Deary, deary me.
"appears to get it right"..."looks like it's sincere"
"more believable"
If there is to be any 'Frying tonight' for me it will be 'Qi' rather than cod or cods-wallop.
"I always look for a rational explanation for things first " Quite right Jeane. I try to do the same.
This leaves me with the poser, "Why is there so little else to do with ones evenings other that sit mesmerized by the comfort-casket in the corner of the room?"
Mark, I see great things for you and Mel on or around the 22nd inst.

You are very welcome Mark & Mel.
I think the reason that many people watch psychic type programmes is that they take comfort from it. We like to hope that there is something better out there than this life. With the decline of traditional religion, going to church etc for many, people look for alternatives. We always like to think our loved ones who have passed away are looking down on us and giving us signs that they are ok.

That's very true Jeane. I think the reason so many elderly folk go to church is a growing (not always known to that person) feeling that their time is coming to an end and having religeon is comforting. Personally I like to think there is something more, but I will never argue with anyone because we just don't know - do we?
There's always a little truth behind every "Just kidding", a little emotion behind every "I don't care" and a little pain behind every "I'm ok".

People often ask me what do I say to those who don't believe? I don't say anything; it's up to the individual. If they believe, great. If not that's ok too. I understand that many people will have to see/witness things for themselves before they think hmmm...maybe there is something to it. I know I had to.
Yes I think the older you get the more you realise you are not invincible and people look for that extra comfort or reassurance.

We all have to keep an open mind, as Jacqui says, we just don't know. There are more things in Heaven and Earth than we could possibly understand fully.
Strange things have happened in most families that defy a logical explanation.

Perhaps we would each expect rather more of life if we accepted that the end is indeed the end?
How much more we can accept in the way of hardship and disappointment 'knowing' that we are/maybe destined to live forever in a land of milk and honey and that what we do in our last few years on this Earth or in our final moments could be enough to wipe away a life-times' wrongs.
The spectre of peace on Earth may remain just that while a spectre-ship is the best we can hope for in the eternal hereafter.
By way of conjoining two topics...
The great P.T.Barnum it was who exhibited a tableau of a lion and a lamb in the same cage.
When asked how long he could keep it up, replied..."Just as long as the supply of lambs lasts out."

Although I do not believe in the ideas promoted by Spiritualism, I have no interest in rubbishing something that a lot of people believe in.
However I do have Some questions: If people are given this gift, why give it to Colin Fry? Also, why doesn't he do something useful with it?
Surely, he could solve murders or work for the banks to prevent future financial catastrophes. Instead he makes a TV program with an audience of people who already believe or WANT to contact deceased loved ones. He generally spends the most part establishing 'proof' that he is in contact, by saying things like "...and he knew he was ill didn't he my love?" and then once he has confirmed a link, he lands up concluding with an inane message such as "he just wants you to know everything is OK and not to worry about the car"
If spiritualism has got it right perhaps Colin Fry needs a new angle.

psychics are regularly employed by police forces in extremely complicated enquiries.

Mel do you have a lot of banging going on in your house,it is probably the people doing the kitchen.I bet Howard comments on that!
Sorry not convinced with Colin Fry although I do think he is one of the better ones, now Jonathan Edward the American psyschic, but everyone to his own.I believe I have seen ghosts and I am convinced my Nan keeps an eye on me and has done since she died or as those people say on TV passed over. Some people get a lot of comfort from readings and who am I to say its rubbish,Jeane is the world's leading expert on this, personally I will let you know when I have gone,if I come back and haunt you then you will know.
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

see what you mean darren.
i can remember going past an office block which had a number of buzzers, one was for a psychic.
i pressed it and a voice came back with "who is it"? i replied "you can't be any any good" and walked off.

DT1, I can confirm that psychics are used by the police as Howard mentioned. They don't broadcast that fact much. I offered my help to the McCann family when Madeline went missing and also less publicised cases. I have helped the police with a murder investigation where the body of a young woman was found. It was very disturbing and I suffered flashbacks for a long time afterwards, but I did get them some information about how she had died and who was the perpetrator. It's not something I relish, but if I can help in some small way then I am happy to do so.
I agree that some psychics tell people what they want to hear but in their defence a lot of people say to me "don't tell me anything bad"!
Howard, should have seen that one coming!

Jeane, I don't know weather i do believe it or not but the two little things i asked you about some time ago seem to have stopped after taking your advice but will keep an open mind.
