  As a dyed in the wool leftie I still feel firmly that, however institutionally racist organisations are, scaring them into retreat is not the way forward. In this case, it left people too scared to challenge people of colour for fear of the accusation of racism. I have professional experience of this on many occassions, and it has cost the country millions of pounds in terms of ETs, ITs and investigations in public sector organisations, most of which are unfounded and unnecessary.
