  The problem with community groups (not all of them) is that because they tick so many boxes in council and government objectives it is the politicians and officers who are pushing to establish them. Rather than getting groups that are trying to do something for their communities you get groups who are trying to fit in with council and government objectives, or political party objectives. Some, such as the LRCF, have avoided this so far but they will all feel the pressure to fit in with policy rather than genuine community need.
  
  Local politicians and officers should be attending to listen, not to organise and direct.
