    i think we are all agreed that there are too many levels of government, i am against getting rid of town and parish councils though.

    they have small budgets that can cover thngs that are important locally, more so with parish councils.

    people in villages and rural areas sometimes feel that they are paying council tax to a distant authority and getting nothing in return.

    parish councils are best placed to decide what is important in their locality, could be village hall improvements, toilets, bus shelters or anything else that is an issue to them.
