I was fortunate to be involved with the Newhaven/Dieppe route in the early 1980's.
I have a picture in a book that is similar to yours and it dates "as early 1930's". I hope to scan in and put on this thread.
As far as the town of Dieppe. It is the best of the Channel ports. Superb restaurants and good shopping. A wondeful museum (excellent art collection and some of the finest ivory carvings) and cleaner than Calais or Boulogne.
When I was working in Dieppe I discovered that many Paris businessmen bring their valued clients for lunch in Dieppe.
