  Has Dickens Corner changed hands recently? I don't get out much but thought I would treat myself to a well-earned coffee break this afternoon and went to Dickens Corner - haven't been there for ages. Went in all smiles, looking forward to a solo break. Well, not only did the girl behind the counter serve me the cake with her bare hands - hands that had just cleared the tables and hadn't been washed between that and serving my cake - but the coffee I was looking forward to (big billing in the window, all about how fab the coffee is) was so disappointing. And another girl was sweeping up while I had the coffee and cake (dust flying about) and between them they looked as if they would rather be anywhere but there!!! It was not what I was expecting, and certainly when I have been in before (it is so infrequent) it has been much better. I am hoping it was just an off day?
