It has just been reported that Lt Cdr Richard Liggett (Dick) RNR (Rtd) died at Canterbury Hospital in his sleep on 05 Jan 2017,Funeral arrangements yet to be confirmed.
Dick was a lovely man and true Gent, he did the Rememberence Day at Dover Town Council for many years, and was involved with the Dover Sea Cadets for many years, thoughts are with his family.

Sad to hear about Dick. I worked with him many times on Remembrance Day and other events. I remember him being taken by surprise one St George's Day when although I had provided a clock for eight bells a certain councillor looked at his watch and prodded the mayor who rang the bell nearly two minutes early! Poor old Dick hadn't got the standard bearers ready.
