D.H.B. MEETING TONIGHT was very very
- 23 May 2016 23:08313901Well as you know I have been a supporter of the work done over the years by the D.H.B. and tonights meeting at Cruise Terminal one is my last event I will be going to in Dover and I hoped it was going to be a good event and one I would not forget ,well I was right about it being one I will not forget.
I t was by far the most boring event I have ever been to.
The Terminal was done out nice and no one could walk on the blue carpet till 1700hrs that was ok with myself all the community stands were good but most the same as last year,then it came for the meeting and it was just like going to a prize day at any school more got award then did not I think the only one that did not get one was the window cleaner.The Dover H. B I feel have let them self down this year the film was just like the one last year the talks by the members of the DHB sorry to say was boring unless you one of the many who got award or if you worked for them. But for me as a member of the public I feel they missed the boat on this one.
And it was held in the Terminal and not up in the room above and it was very cold in there.
The contents in their book same as last year,
Time they looked into the way they hold this event if it is going to on again next year.
In fact I walked out half way into the meeting.
I am not happy to talk like this about a company that has had my support for many years and what they have done and still doing does still have my support ,good thing they are making alot better job of the work behind that, then what I saw at the meeting tonight.I know some of them look in on the forum I hope they read what I have put and act on it for next year.Thank you.

- 24 May 2016 09:03313915What a pity they chose to hold it at the Old Marine Station.The likes of me cannot get there.You need a car.The Town Hall is more central.Im sure DH B could afford the hire.It does not ncourage non use of a car.On another note a friend attended and said it was a good event.If you don't stay until the end maybe you miss the important part.What were the awards for?

24 May 2016 11:38313917Sue, I also get annoyed by any event like this where there is the assumption that you can simply drive there.
Unfortunately the world now revolves around the car, a simple visit to Samphire Hoe is hopeless unless you have a car yet they also have events down there.-----------------------------------------------------------------------
