Sorry guys, I've been a little busy and this is first time I've dipped in to the forum for a day or so.

The DHB meeting was the inaugural meeting of their new Community Forum. They announced that they would be proceeding down this line a couple of months ago with separate Community and Port User forums.

At the present time we wait to see if DHB will walk the walk as well as talk the talk and it would be very good for Dover if they did both effectively whilst we go through the process of implementation of the next stage of the Port's long and illustrious life that will see it owned in perpetuity by the communities of Dover and the surrounding area with access to the private capital markets at need and forever free of the threat of sale to a remote third party owner at the whim of its board, executive and/or the Government of the day.

I started in this project to develop a cross party - apolitical - alliance of stakeholders who, together, would ensure that the port would be owned in perpetuity by its own community. The process of adding to the list of supportive stakeholders continues and I really do not care one jot what colour rosette they wear at the hustings, its about Dover, not party politics.
