  Great offers there on the front page from DFDS I rather fancy the spa in SPA and the glass of bubbles in Epernay. Birthday coming up soon so you never know I might get lucky

  I hope DFDS are offering the same sort of thing on the other side of the channel. If not, they are just sucking cash out of East Kent into the Nord Pas-de-Calais economy.

  With around 80% of originating journeys starting from the U.K. it is quite unlikely it would be the same deal from both sides - I've never known why though.

  there has been a steady increase in foot passengers from the nord pas de calais in town over the last few years.
  
  p & o were offering a deal of 1 euro day return at one time.

  The "Discover Dover" leaflet was a good attempt to encourage the French over here; the leaflet was on board the P. & O. ferries and the LD Lines too.

  Ah yes I remember the leaflets well Roger, a brave effort it was too...I think we did show a picture of yourself and Nick Stevens recently re the same leaflets on another thread.
  
  I think I remember also reading somewhere that France is the worlds most visited destination. The great bulk of movement sems to head there from all across Europe. These deals spring up as a result of one conveyor trying to steal a march over its rival operator..but the tripper benefits.

  Not only for Mothers Day but at anytime the deals shown on the Frontpage are a bargin, having sampled Reims champagne delights in the past, and one would not say no to luxurious Spa what more could a girl ask for.
