Very late update:
Said keys from above post were handed into Ladywell three or four days later.

New Stanhope/Astley development (this could have gone in the "Traffic Chaos" thread):
KCC* are planning a "pothole blitz" for both roads. A three day job apparently. Both roads will be affected for the same three days.
So. Just where the **** are all of the dozens of parked cars supposed to go for those three days? I have visions of me getting home from work at stupid o'clock in the early hours, having to park miles away and needing a taxi to actually get home. And back again the next shift. I hope I'm wrong.
Both roads are a bit knackered and certainly need work. But surely it would make more sense to do one at a time?
I'm also pretty sure that they tried to do repair these roads a few years ago, but it didn't happen because the roads didn't clear of cars. Possibly because of the, "well where are we meant to park then?", thing.
To stay on the original thread. A lot of the road damage in Stanhope was caused by the HGVs dragging plant up to the top of the hill to clear the plot. Literal gouges in tarmac as previously mentioned.
