    people complain because they care for the most part, not just dover but many parts of east kent are left behind because it is seen as part of the affluent sout east.

    if dover was situated north of birmingham money would have been thrown in by the government many years ago.

    the present state of neglect in the town centre itself, despite it's good occupancy rate, has little to do with events like the castle going over to english heritage or the traffic to the port.

    much more to do with slum landlords allowed to do what they like with no compunction to do their duty.

    jan makes the point that the average townsperson make on a daily basis, the additions being sandwich and st margarets.
