Once again I have the unhappy task of posting information on the death of a dear friend. Dennis lived in Folkestone Road, you will all have seen the weird Japanese imports and Chevrolet Corvettes on his forecourt on the corner of Winchelsea.
We knew for some time that he was ill- I bumped into him a few weeks ago in the Co-op when he was on his way home from an appointment at the Royal Marsden. He told me then that he had been given 3 to 6 months but that he had not yet told his family so I had to keep it under my hat.
About 2 weeks ago Dennis and Sandra dropped in to the bar and Dennis had lost a horrendous amount of weight. He was optimistic that an experimental drug he was being given was working, but today his elder brother Jim came in with the news that he died in the early hours of this morning.
He was the same age as me.

On Monday this week another old friend, Glenn Moore from Elvington also died. He was an ex-miner who turned to driving trucks after the pits closed.
He was also the same age as me. (58).

Very Sad Peter.
We didn't know him very well, but had met him a few times at Blakes and was a very nice chap.
He had some unusual cars for sale that's for sure.
RIP.

We knew him well, he was a customer and he lent me a car once when ours was in dock. His son took over the car sales business and we occasionally saw him at the Griffns Head at Chillenden on a Sunday with an interesting car or two.

Ten years ago today this wonderful human being left us to do what he thought must be something very important in another place. He is missed each and every single day. His family met at The Fox to raise a glass in his memory. Living forever in our hearts my lovely brother.
