    Why is she an ex pharma rep?

    I actually know the answer to the second one in terms of your average person - they believe what the media tells them, which habitually and regularly misinterprets not only big pharmas PR but more worryingly properly peer reviewed science and then reports that.

    Sensible people should do their own research to see what out there really works and whether the formal research and clinical trials showed it to deal with the disease/illness or just managed the symptoms. A very large minority of medicines tend to do the latter rather than the former, but if it makes you more comfortable and frees up your immune system to fight the underlying illness then good.
