  Good post, Andrew, and from what I can see looking in from outside a well reasoned opinion. The town seems to be run , now and in the past, by albeit well meaning people, by mostly unqualified and inexperienced bunch holding back the town's progress.
  
  Being part of a town council is a hugely important position and you'd think processes were in place to weed out those who are incapable of reaching a professional enough standard to be able to hold such office.
