We often get magpies in the garden our two cats have totally different reactions, one never seems to be interested the other always thinks 'can I get it this time'.

I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

With my disinterested one I think it could almost walk up to him and say hello, he is the laziest animal I have ever had. I hate it when the other cat brings in his trophies especially when they are mice that are still alive and always seem to end up under the cooker, thank goodness rats are left dead on the mat outside .

Last week our cat Oliver brought home something out of the ordinary, a baby rabbit , a nice change from the odd birds, mice, voles, rats & frogs, he sat there with smug look on his face, very happy with himself
Let this be a warning, I haven't seen next doors cat in a while - I kid! This darling magpie arrived with his own bone this morning which he kindly left on top of the conservatory
The cat is clearly sizing up the seagull, calculating the odds and probably deciding it's too risky. Or maybe there is a reason for it's disappearance...
