Good turnout, the letters in the Mercury will be interesting next week.

I have know Ian for many years not through the Labour Party but as a commuter when I worked at Deal station 30 odd years ago,This seat was traditionally a tory seat so it was a good result for the reds. But well done all those who went out and braved the cold to vote.
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

Good spin John. This was a Labour seat held by just 15 votes.
Not really overwhelming but a win nonetheless I accept.
If people are looking for trends Labour can't gain much comfort from this.

yes gary the letters page should be very interesting next thursday, i can even see a couple of names there already.
a turnout of 26% in such weather fot a town council seat suggests that there was a lot of political activity leading up to the vote.

Maybe the pavements and side roads were gritted so people could get to the polling station.
