Yes you dont have to go to the meeting, you still can stand, but it's a helpful to tool to get to know what the councillor role is all about.

If anyone is serous in standing I think to add to exp[erience it would be a good idea to shadow a councillor till May.

The officers at the council can only give you an insight into how the council works up at Whitfield.

The ward work is an add on to this and a big one at that!!!!

Im sure there are many cllrs out there that would happily shadow new comers to May.,

    VIC;
I think you realy do need to make up your mind, having announced to all your retirement and getting everyone's good wishes, we now see a change of heart, thats fine, but people will see through that.

Your health also you should consider first.

    on the wards themselves
    To be honest
RIVER Sues so popular she will win that seat very very easily
(of course it's your rght to stand)_

Could humbly remind you Prory/maxton and Elms vale consists of more
than the Folkestone Road and Maxton, and as your unaware of that s probably came bottom of the candidates last time, this is a clear signal from the electorate of that ward.
But of course it's your right to stand

On River parish council I don't know the number of vacancies nor do i know the number of candidates.

All in all Vic as iv said for some time you can do just as much outside of the council as you can siitting on it.

Your health/family should be top priority

I know your hearts in the right place
    Just trying to give advice

As I say at the end of the day it's your decision
