  i must admit some of the snippets from the council chamber make me chortle.
  
  i remember one many years back when the reds and blues had equal numbers and an old member here brian martin wanting to pop out for a cigarette but worried that a vote would be held when he was outside.
  
  after being assured that would not happen he left the chamber and a vote was held the minute he stepped outside the door.
