Thanks for the laugh Brian, I can only assume that if you`d lived in China a few years back you would also have been one of the masses waving Chairman Mao`s little red book. This affliction usually occurs only in people unable to think for themselves, more recently known as the medical term " EU gullableitis ". A serious condition, more likely for some reason to affect supporters of the lib-dims and labour party. The only known treatment at the present time for this sad state of affairs is a good old bashing of the head with a rather large wooden mallet. Unfortunately, a positive outcome is not guarenteed and many sufferers require further treatment over a long period of time together with a free membership of UKIP.
However, I did enjoy reading various peoples comments on the " Aren`t we marvellous " EU Facebook, telling them where they can stick their so called "democratic" ideals!
This one in particular made me laugh......." The European Parliament is the only directly-elected EU body. Members of the Parliament represent you, the citizen." Hahaha! Well, of course it`s the only bloody " directly-elected EU body ", it would be illegal to have any others and would not be tolerated by those in Brussels. As for " Members of the Parliament represent you, the citizen ", that`s another howler! They might represent us but actually they may as well not bother for all the power that they`ve got which is virtually nil.
Anyway, good laugh Brian, much better than any of the comedy that is on the box these days!

you were very nearly right there john but you made the big mistake of putting the blame on the left when in fact it was the right that have brought us to this impasse.
Heath/thatcher/major???
mere lapdogs that ignored what the left saw through 30 odd years ago.

Correct Howard and I take your point, but to be honest I was only really referring to current "sufferers" in that, in theory anyway, the conservatives are currently somewhat more eurosceptic compared with Brian`s party. ( or so they tell us! )

with all due respect john you are barking up the wrong telegraph pole, brian's idea of a party is free beer, loose ladies and the livestock up the western heights being converted into a giant mixed grill.

you forgot the smoked salmon and cavier sandwhiches howard.
john you neglect to mention that all the negative comments come from ukip and Eurosceptic loony factions of the tory party.

Brian - why do you label people who do not trust the EU as loonies ?
From someone who doesn't like or trust the EU, the boot is most firmly on the other foot.
