Just to let some of you know that I had a account with the crossing so that I did not have to pay on the day, but because I could not use it in lockdown I phone them up to see if I funds to cross now because I am going over to see my family etc when I can. But very glad I done that because they had closed my account down because I had not done a crossing for a long time. I was told that does not matter if anyone holds a account and does not use it then aftet some weeks they close it, But because I had done that call they paid me back £23 that was in my old account ,so if you are in the same boat please call them to see if your account is still open you will not get money back from them if you do not call them ' you will have to pay for the crossing you make now or get a fine you must open a new account. Its a pain I know but that is the way it is.
Yes sir thats sounds about right it has been about year from the last time I went across, also I got a new car within that time, but did tell them at the time.but as I said I got my money back.
No reason for them to close accounts other than to create a situation where people forget or don't know they need to reopen an account, which will lead to people getting fines.
Clearly a "gotcha" move.
Why do we tolerate this "Ryanairifcation" of everything!
