Harsh as it may sound, this is the nature of politics today and the Internet allows people to post all sorts of lies and slander with total impunity. Many people will defend their anonymity saying their job doesn't allow them to post openly but in my opinion if they have such a job they should not be posting at all.
I now have a general policy of not responding directly to people whose forum handles are obviously pseudonyms and I would advise others to do the same. Of course this does not apply to Capt. Haddock because we all know who he is.
