One of the oldest human habits................and should be encouraged....
It is excellent for our physical health -exercise/fresh air.....
Our emotional health............stops boredom, stimulates our observational powers, gives us positive interaction with our fellow human beings......
Most Councillors would disagree, because the better a neighbourhood gets on with no trouble, the less need for formal help..................they would soon be obsolete, and we have too many already......
Animals are our greatest friends........................

Looking at most of the threads on this forum....in my eyes Madame Tranter, actually no......such remarks in my eyes are very typical of the defensive stance councillors take when met with any criticism.....
IMO we have too many masters, organisers, controllers, government, whatever over us.......
When you look and knew Dover years ago....it was mainly the ordinary people who made the town the successful, vibrant place it was..............
In my posting, I mention animals as friends, exercise, stimulation etc....etc...
but my throwaway remark on too many councillors......was the one that bought up the comments - 17 October 2011 18:57131960a bit unfair of you mr norman, councillors are just the same as every grouping in life, some good some not so good.
if i were a councillor and worked hard for the equivalent of job seekers allowance i would take exception to your comments.
i must add that i have never been any sort of councillor, stood for election as one or have any intention of being one in the future.
