Being the recipient of grants from the Bridging the Gap, part of the Coalfield Regeneration Fund, I was invited to their AGM last night at whitfield.
Mr Peter McNestry, Head of CRT was coming down to make an announcement and I was told it was not the announcement that everyone expected, which was the end of this funding.
He announced that this funding was to continue, as is, for the next 2 years with probabilities for 2 more years but maybe with reduced funding. This government are also considering adding further funding to CRT for setting up help and support, such as interest free loans, to NEW local business. The later will be decided on within 2 months.
This is great news for our communities and is very welcomed indeed, a lifeline to many projects that are so important, especially now.
    Credit, where credit is due.

I also attended a meeting regarding Hadlow College, taking over at Betteshanger Business Park. Again I am pleased to say, this was a very positive meeting and we were assured that, should they be successful, they are wholly committed to the continuance of our Country Park and are willing to listen to local input to help the Park move forward. To this end, we have been invited to visit Hadlow and talk to them about the future of the Park.
