On Saturday we held a Crafts 'Dabble' Day in the village hall, very successful. Included a schoolgirl age about 8, and two men !
The day was spent making bunting for the Jubilee celebrations, quilled greeting cards, cording, patchwork pincushions, rag rugs, knitting techniques and crochet all being attempted !
It was a very enjoyable day. And productive.
Villagers are making bunting for the Diamond Juibilee celebrations, all from sheets, pillowcases, curtains, remnants of material, all colours, and some of it has been dyed red. It will look quite impressive when all done. Also on the theme of recycling, rag rug making is popular with several people. Knitting and crochet can use oddments of wool, especially to make items for 'Love in a Box' later in the year.
Patchwork also uses small remnants and pieces of fabric.
We hope to arrange another one soon. Anyone interested let me know! ... And keep recycling...
