19:2490122we all know that kent county council has to make savings of £.95 million in the next financial year. this obviously impacts on jobs and services.
now they are looking at allowances paid to serving members and saving approx £.200.000. which is about 11% of the allowances budget.
there are various options on the table, slimming down the cabinet and fewer special responsibility pay outs seem to be the favourites.
for information the standard allowance is £.12,766.00 with an extra £.27,036.00 for cabinet members.

16:0590206I think the County Council will have more administrative authority in the future, with councillors being more often present at meetings in our County capital, Maidstone.
In this case allowances would probably have to go up.
