Barry, hospitals do not have bars as far as I know and we have not been discussing "food facilities" or canteens.
Most if not all hospital cafes are no longer subsidised as they are expected to make a profit which in turn helps finance the patients catering, the recent James Martin TV programmes about hospital food highlighted this very fact.
