Obviously they have agreed to on this, I wonder what else they have already merged.
This paperless billing seems a good idea and I will check into it later, although I am not so sure about giving my council tax money away as an incentive.

Jan several of DDC services have been shared for several years .IT ,Human resources, and of course Housing.DDC staff only use up a small percentage of space at Whitfield.I will not opt for paper .I hate all this having to recall pass words etc..

I believe DDC and Shepway have been sharing some services for quite a few years, they were even planning to share a chief executive. Unfortunately when it came to a vote about which one would get the order of the boot the result was a tie so each struggled on.

With the paper bill we get other bits and pieces showing how much goes to KCC, Police, Fire and Rescue, Town and Parish Councils etc, could be difficult to put in an e mail. Incidentally there are still no minutes of the last Town Council meeting held on the 7th December, I thought there were rules to ensure prompt information being made available to the public.

You're being a trifle unfair Andy continuous Government cuts to funding has left councils to do more with less money and shifted people's ire onto local authorities. Most of us pay around £2 - £3 a week to DDC who send out the bills. I am OK with that if they take my rubbish and recycling away and sweep my street.

And if you do pay online then administration fee is added ,No thanks they can send me a proper bill then i can see what im paying into And has CBP commented if DDC has a spare grand then it could be given to Kelly Turner ,cant see anyone objecting to that ,,BTW just how much has DDC & DTC donated to her ? Anyone know

Hopefully our councils have not donated any, I know plenty of councillors have from their own pockets and allocations but it is not for the council to give away our money.
You'll Also find there is no administration fee for paying online unless you use a credit card.

You are correct Reg. Councils donot donate tax payers money to charities how ever worthy.I watched on TV last evening a programme re Demelza House. They do such splendid work and as i have said previously we all have our pet charities. Some years ago. The late Ron Dryden and I held a concert in the Town Hall we raised over £2,ooo for Demelza House that was a lot of money about twenty years ago.Likewise at one of my Civic a Services the collection went to Demelza House.I have visited Demelza House. And it makes you think.Whe you are are in politics you have tp keep a steady head .Council Tax Is for Council Services.

Apparently the paperless billing is a Government initiative similar to the one a few years back when local authorities were told to issue councillors with I-Pads.

I am not going to bother as I need my Council Tax number to fill the form in which means going through a large pile of various documents that I have been meaning to sort through for the last couple of years.
