    At the bottom of this is the economic situation that so many EU nations are facing. The governments need to get a grip and take a broader, and longer term, view rather than posturing and trying to demonstrate how 'potent' each is. Isolationism doesn't work as attractive as it might seem and, as far as the EU is concerned, we really are 'all in this together'. Fragmentation will have severe adverse effects for us all.
